The first thing a crowd says when hearing one of DJ MRcSp's sets is 'Wow, what is this guys name'? The second thing is 'what does cSp stand for?' Nobody seems to know, but what they do know is they have just witnessed a unique soulful funky afro latin broken beats vocal & deep house set from one of the UK's top house dj's.The amount of energy and thought that goes into one of his sets is awesome, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the club. Whether playing to 20 people or 20,000, the energy level remains high. DJ MRcSp` made his debut behind the wheels of steel at the tender age of 14 playing within one of Londons sound system crews, Matinique Soul Sound which he created himself to fill a void left in the market for the music he loved. This was the early 80's and Soul, Jazz Funk and Rare Groove was the order of the day not to mention the Lovers Rock and Reggae on the London scene. Both his brothers were dj's and he soon started playing the club circuit in London having to pretend he was older than he was just to gain entry to the club. During this time DJ MRcSp was also gaining experience and nurturing his talents on various pirate radio stations in the UK, one of which he championed himself together with the West London posse DJ Barry P (BP Sounds) & Rob H (Funky Soldiers), Breezefm (101.9 W/London & 106.4E/London), where he soon formulated his own unique style of broadcasting. MRcSp has also played at many beach parties and events in his native island St Lucia, wowing the local crowd with his style of mixing. In 1996 he played Garage exclusively whilst working with his beloved 'Slinki Sundaes' production and promotions team. He has also worked with many top uk producers like DRP, Funky Soldiers, DJ Terra (Submuzik.co.uk, Kool FM), Scratcha Dubplate Dan (1xtra) plus working with his own brothers reggae band The Wisdom Band. He became disillusioned with the Drum and Bass & UK Garage scene and in 2002 decided to take some time away from dj'ing to recharge the batteries, meanwhile still buying music that he loved, Soulful House. In 2006 DJ MRcSp founded the Soul Fuzion Team, hard working and totally dedicated to his music he also host's two of his own shows every week where his bubbly bouncing show full of 'Classic. Soulful. Protein' has attracted many listeners worldwide. In 2007 DJ MRcSp teamed up with Dwongo Lab who has embraced the dynamic sound of House Of Dwongo. He is a resident at the successful Get Known events as well as working with Opulence, P-Funk, Funktastic Saturdays, Soul Fuzion Team, Soulfulboogie, The Lab and Miami Grooves playing at many of the capitals top underground house events. 2008 sees DJ MRcSp going international with tours in Europe and The Caribbean in the pipeline.
